We decided to keep Dancer, so all pups from this litter are now sold and at their new homes.

January 21, 2006

Dancer is more aware, looking us in the eye before she runs wanting to be picked up. Learning the routine, getting baths and her nails done! She is quick to learn, and doing well with house training and crate training.

January 14, 2006

Dancer is starting to pay more attention to people, and noticing what we are doing. The puppies get locked in the crate to practice training while we mop the floor. They are watching for clean blankets to play in!

Blitzen and Prancer have left for their new families. We miss them so much already, but know that they're getting all the attention they need, they both have their own kids now!

The beagles are learning quickly how to run and jump and wrestle toys. They all enjoy being spoiled with gruel, but like their hard kibble too. Lil is starting to discourage nursing and the babies are getting closer to being independent of their mama and going to their own families.

December 26, 2005

Everything is a first introduction for our Beagle Babies. They have had Gruel, and Water, and hard Kibble! Dancer loves gruel the best, while her brothers like cracking the hard kibble because they are teething. Soft chew toys and extra blankets to romp. Everything is carefully staged for their first introductions. The puppies had their first Bath and their nails done. Cupid and Blitzen didn't seem to mind at all.

December 17, 2005

The Beagle Babies are moved into the kitchen where they can explore. Slowly at first with their steps off their nice soft blanket onto the hard cool floor. By the end of the week they will be running all around.

This is also the week they start to eat gruel. Puppy kibble in the blender with broth to a paste. It's messy and leads to exploring gruel on everything. Then Mom comes along and it's her treat to make them sparkling clean again.

Looking around and becoming aware. They can see where their mama is and walk steadily to her. The puppies also see beyond the whelping box. and watch you, between their day long naps!

They are just opening their eyes, shaky on their feet learning to control their movement.

Lil is a very gentle loving mother to her pups. She spends all night in the whelping box with them. She is in our bedroom and could sneak into our bed, but she doesn't.

Lily gave birth to her first litter today at 1 PM. She had a total of five pups, three are tri colored and two are chocolate. Pictures of Lily and her litter are below.
